This website is published by AKULA, Unipessoal, Lda (we, us), owner and operator of Vila Flamingo, with registered office at Rua dos Cedros n.º 1, 2760-026 Caxias, Portugal, NIPC 514 389 176. We are the controller of the personal data described below. You can reach us at email us or on +351 967 034 108.
This policy concerns this website alone. If you go on to book a stay or an event, the contract and its own terms will govern that relationship.
We collect only what you type into one of our two forms, plus the language of the page you used and the number of nights your dates represent, which the form calculates for you.
Arrival and departure dates, number of adults, number of children under 12, your name, your email address, your telephone number if you give it, and your message.
Your name, email address and telephone number if you give it, the dates of arrival, departure and of the celebration, the type of celebration, the number of guests present and staying overnight, and your message.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us through these forms, any information about health, religion, or other special categories of data. If you do, we will use it only to answer you.
We do not send marketing emails, we do not profile you, and no decision about you is taken by automated means.
Your submission reaches the people at Vila Flamingo who handle bookings and events, and no one else. We do not sell data and we do not share it for anyone else’s purposes.
The site is hosted by Netlify, which also receives and stores the form submissions on our behalf, as our processor under a data processing agreement. Netlify is established in the United States. That transfer takes place under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission on 10 July 2023 (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795), with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses as the fallback mechanism provided for in the agreement. Netlify uses its own sub-processors for infrastructure and monitoring; it must notify us before engaging a new one, and remains responsible for them.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to our lawyers where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
This website places no cookie on your device and loads nothing from a third-party server. The typefaces are served from our own domain, the location map is a static image, and there is no analytics script, no advertising tag and no social plug-in. That is why you are not asked to accept anything when you arrive. If we later add a measurement tool, we will choose one that does not require cookies, and we will say so here.
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for three years from our last exchange with you, then deleted. Where a booking follows, the file is kept for the duration of the contract and thereafter for the period required by the accounting, tax and limitation rules that apply to us.
Under the GDPR you may ask for access to your data (Article 15), for its correction (Article 16) or erasure (Article 17), for the restriction of its processing (Article 18), for it to be sent to you or to another controller in a portable form (Article 20), and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Article 21). Write to us at the address above; we answer within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may lodge a complaint with the Portuguese supervisory authority: Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), Av. D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º, 1200-651 Lisboa, or with the authority of your own country of residence.
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
